Wall-Hanging Stove Background
For normal resident gas usage, the wall-hanging stove features with high continuous flows, long term usage, and large xconsumption. For the flow interval limitation of diaphragm gas meters, wall-hanging stove users have to install mass flow gas meters separately for metering.
Enterprise Introduction
ENN Group (02688.HK) has been engaged in urban pipeline gas services since 1992. As the largest clean energy distributor in China, ENN Group has successfully run 160 urban gas projects in 17 provinces and municipalities and provided gas services for over 14 million residents and over 68,000 commercial and industrial users. With over 60,000 km pipelines and 597 natural gas stations for vehicles in China., ENN Group’s services covers areas of more than 77 million residents.
Challenges for Gas Enterprises
Gas meters of wall-hanging stoves are usually installed indoor. It is difficult to get indoor when manual metering, Actual gas usage data cannot be obtained in time as lack of necessary monitoring measures which causing differences between supply and marketing especially during the heating peak when block tariff is applied by using IC card meter..
Products and Applications
ENN Group started using Goldcard’s IoT gas meters for wall-hanging users in Shijiazhuang, Hebei. After One heating season r, ENN Group found that the operating costs and quantity difference between supply and marketing were greatly reduced. Therefore, ENN Group adopted Goldcard’s IoT gas meters and IoT collection system for common civil meters since 2016.
Main Revenue or Value for Gas Enterprises
Goldcard’s IoT gas meters help to solve the difficulties of indoor manual metering, reduce management costs, and increase revenue via China Mobile network.Take an example, an area with 900,000 users for 10 years:
(1) Reduced metering and operating costs: Assuming that the cost of outsourced metering personnel for each gas meter is 20 Yuan per year and 200 staff with average annual salary of 45,000 Yuan are employed for the gas company, the 10-year costs should be 270 million Yuan. After Goldcard’s IoT gas meters are adopted, metering and operating costs are greatly reduced to 135 million Yuan.
(2) Increased payment colleting rate: The annual rate of conventional gas meters is only 75.9%. Assuming that the monthly gas usage of each user is 28.33 m3 and the gas price is 2.4 Yuan/m3, the 10 year gas payment is 5.573 billion Yuan. After Goldcard’s IoT gas meters are used, gas leakage and tampering can be monitored accurately and immediately which enables 100% rate of gas payment in theory, that is, 7.343 billion Yuan for 10-year gas payment.
(3) Reduced losses caused by price adjustment: Immediate price adjustment is not available for conventional gas meters which reduces gas enterprises’ revenue. According to calculation, the annual loss caused by price adjustment is about 3 Yuan per meter. After Goldcard’s IoT gas meters are adopted, real-time price adjustment is available, which reduces losses by 27 million Yuan for 10 years.
In conclusion, although the purchasing costs of IoT gas meters are a litter expensive, but great progress in economy as metering ,operating costs, payment collecting rate, price adjustment loss can be effectively improved if Goldcard’s IoT gas meters are adopted.
